Nigerian drug lord Adeshina Akinjiola

A suspected Nigerian drug lord, Adeshina Akinjiola, has been arrested on arrival in Nigeria after being deported for the second time from Kenya, local media report.

Mr Akinjiola was first sent out of Kenya on July 10, 2018 by the country’s interior cabinet security secretary, Fred Matiang’i.

The Department of Immigration Services says it did not know how Akinjiola managed to return to the country for the second time.

Akinjiola was apprehended upon arrival at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos.

“He was deported on Saturday and arrested upon arrival in Lagos, Nigeria,” Director of Immigration services, Alexandra Mutesi, was quoted as saying.

The suspected drug lord was arrested after Kenyan officials informed their Nigerian counterparts that he was engaged in drug trafficking.

Akinjiola is well known in Kenya’s entertainment circle and is popular for dishing out money publicly.
