The Governorship and State House of Assembly elections finally held across the country on Saturday, April 11, 2015.
Even though there was a low turn-out of voters at many polling centres, President Goodluck Jonathan, President-Elect, Muhammadu Buhari, his wife, Aisha, APC’s National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Lagos State APC gubernatorial flag-bearer, Akinwunmi Ambode, his PDP counterpart, Jimi Agbaje, and celebrities including Banky W, Mercy Aigbe-Gentry, Omoni Oboli, Toolz, Toke Makinwa, among others were spotted at their respective polling stations exercising their civic duties.
Speaking shortly after his accreditation, President Jonathan reportedly said, ‘My conviction is that PDP will do well. It may probably do better in a number of states. In some states our performance will even improve.
‘Even if you look at the last elections, our performance in some states improved. But in some states our performance was a bit low. I think that in the overall PDP will do well.’
