Nigeria won’t know peace until there’s an Igbo President – Nwobodo

Former Governor of old Anambra State, Jim Nwobodo, has said that Nigeria would not experience peace until an Igbo man becomes president.

Nwobodo said this on Sunday at his 79th birthday celebration in Enugu State.

“Nigeria will not know peace until an Igbo becomes president. If an Igbo man becomes the president, there will be a difference,” he said.

Nwobodo, a former senator as well, also called on Ndigbo to unite in support of anyone doing well to become president.

He also praised Enugu State Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, for uniting everyone in the state.

President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Nnia Nwodo, who chaired the occasion, also praised Ugwuanyi for accepting even the opposition to work with him.

“Ugwuanyi has no boundary. We have never had such love that exists in Enugu State today,” Nwodo said.

He urged future governors of the state to emulate Ugwuanyi and “not remind us of old days of acrimony or animosity.”
