Nigeria records 501 new coronavirus cases

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Saturday night announced 501 new coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in the country.

The latest figures bring the total number of confirmed cases in Nigeria to 15682.

Of the 501 new cases, Lagos recorded the highest with 195 cases, FCT-50, Kano-42, Kaduna-27, Edo-26, Oyo-22, Imo-21, Gombe-17, Benue-12, Enugu-12, Delta-11 and Anambra-11.

Others are Ebonyi-10, Nasarawa-9, Ogun-9, Bauchi-8, Kebbi-4, Akwa Ibom-3, Jigawa-3, Katsina-3, Yobe-2, Borno-2, Kwara-1 and Ondo-1.

The NCDC said on Twitter that the number of COVID-19 patients successfully managed and discharged across the country increased to 5101.

It also said that eight new deaths were recorded, pitching total coronavirus-related deaths in the country at 407.
