Nigeria beat South Africa to qualify for U-17 Women World Cup

Nigeria’s U-17 Women’s National team sealed their spot in the 2016 FIFA U-17 Women World Cup thanks to a 7-0 aggregate victory over South Africa.

The Flamingos were certainly done and dusted following their 6-0 demolition of their opponents in Abuja a fortnight ago.

Notwithstanding, Bala Nikyu’s side went all the way to Tembisa, South Africa, on Saturday and secured a 1-0 victory over their host.

Rasheedat Ajibade scored the only goal of the game in the 29th minute to give the young Falcons another win.

Ajibade profited from an error from South Africa goalie Malogadi Maluleke to slot into an empty net.

The Nigerians continued their dominance but poor finishing coupled with the solid Maluleke meant the game ended 1-0.

The fifth edition of the biennial tournament will be staged in Jordan from September 30 to October 21.
