NCDC corrects error in confirmed coronavirus cases

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has apologised for an error in two new cases of the coronavirus (COVID-19) in Bauchi which was reported on Wednesday night.

In a tweet on Thursday night, the agency said the reported cases were repeat tests for previously confirmed ones.

“Yesterday, we erroneously reported 2 new cases in Bauchi. Following further review, we can confirm that these were repeat tests for previously confirmed cases,” it said.

“We apologise for this error and remain committed to ensuring transparent and accurate reporting of test results.”

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country now stands at 288 following 14 new ones reported on Thursday night.
