Suspected gunmen have kidnapped a driver of the Nation newspaper, Port Harcourt zonal office, Godknows Longjohn.
The paper said Mr Longjohn was reportedly abducted at Omerelu, a border community between Rivers and Imo States early Tuesday while on his way to Awka, Anambra state.
The driver was headed to Awka to deliver Tuesday’s edition of the Nation publication when he was abducted.
The suspected gunmen were said to have picked him up and abandoned his vehicle and the packages therein in the middle of the highway.
The paper said the suspected kidnappers have made a demand of N1.5 million for his release.
It also said the police in Port Harcourt had been alerted about the incident.
