Afrobeats singer and skit maker Nasboi has launched a bold and unconventional campaign to secure a collaboration with Afrobeats star Davido.
In what he describes as a heartfelt plea, Nasboi revealed on Instagram that he will kneel in front of government buildings in all 36 states of Nigeria for 36 days, holding a placard with a single request — a verse from Davido.
The campaign kicked off in Osun State, where the entertainer was photographed on his knees in front of the government secretariat, placard in hand.
“In 2019, I started mimicking Davido to get his attention for my music, but the videos blew me up as a comedian.. (God’s plan). I am back to plea with 001. Bless me with a verse for this song king. I will be kneeling across 36 states for 36 days. I pray this dream comes to pass. Please as a fan of Nasboi, just tag @davido everyday when you see the post…,” he wrote in the caption.
Nasboi, who first gained popularity with his hilarious impressions of Davido, said this new effort is a return to his original passion — music — and a hopeful reach toward his long-time inspiration.
Davido, who has been tagged in thousands of comments by fans rallying behind Nasboi, reacted with a playful response: “set up 😂.”
Undeterred, Nasboi has continued the campaign, posting a second image from Kano State, marking day two of the journey.
The campaign has drawn widespread attention on social media, with many praising his dedication and creativity.
