Napoli prioritise Nigeria striker, Emmanuel Dennis, over Victor Osimhen

Emmanuel-Dennis

Italian giants, Napoli, have joined the race for Nigeria forward, Emmanuel Dennis, who has also caught the attention of Arsenal and other English clubs.

Napoli are understood to have placed the Club Brugge striker ahead of Lille’s Victor Osimhen, who is also a Nigerian.

Dennis attracted the attention of English fans during his performances against Manchester United in the Europa League.

Since joining the Belgian side in 2017 from Zorya Luhansk, the 22-year-old has scored 28 goals and provided 10 assists in 103 games.

Last November, Leicester City were said to have considered a January move for the striker who was at the time priced at £20 million.

Arsenal now appear to be favourites to sign Dennis for around £22 million.

Newcastle, Brighton, Sheffield United, Watford, Monaco and Sampdoria are said to also be eyeing him.

Earlier this month, Brugge manager, Philippe Clement, said it was ‘very likely’ his star would leave.

French football expert, Manu Lonjon, according to Football Italia, said Dennis has become top priority for Napoli this summer as Osimhen’s £45 million price tag appears out of the Serie A club’s budget.
