NAN MD, Ima Niboro, loses mum

Ima NiboroThe death has occurred of Deaconess Agnes Owoma Ukeseh (Nee Ekemike), mother of the Managing Director of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) and former Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ima Niboro.

A statement signed by Deputy Director, Office of the Managing Director of NAN, Obiora Chukwumba, said the deceased, who turned 79 on August 6, 2014 passed on at mid-day on Wednesday, August 28.

Described as a “devout Christian, a retired Nursing Matron, with a lifetime commitment to the service of God, the church and community,” Ukeseh, the statement said, “was accomplished in her Christian ministry and the nursing profession.2

She is survived by her children, Mrs Sarah Ajiboye, a businesswoman; Bishop Columba Niboro, General Overseer of the Sonrise Community Church, Toledo, Ohio, USA; Ima Niboro and Mrs. Grace Owhraigbo, of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) as well as many grandchildren.

The programme of celebration of her life and memory as well as internment will be announced by the family.
