Music artiste Naira Marley has demanded the release of his associates Mohbad and Zinoleesky who were arrested by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency on Thursday, February 24.

According to the NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi, who confirmed the raid, the singers were arrested over possession of illicit drugs.

“Our men raided an area in Idado estate where Naira Marley’s boys stay. Some quantities of Cannabis and Molly were recovered from their apartment and car,” he said.

“Six persons were arrested in all. Two females and four males,” he continued.

Angered by the actions of the agency, Naira Marley who is back in Nigeria, took to Twitter on Friday, February 25 to demand the release of his proteges.

He stated that the NDLEA’s treatment and approach are disgusting, unjust and unfair. According to him, the series of events that has happened was beginning to look like a pattern following his own arrest by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

“What is happening to my brothers is disgusting. The injustice is unfair and this is beginning to look like a pattern. First me now my artists. Free Zinoleesky, free shubomi, free micee and dosky,” he said.

Moments after he made the post, the 30-year-old made another tweet announcing that Mohabd has been released while Zino remains in custody.

“NDLEA has released Mohbad after physically assaulting him, Zinoleesky is still in custody. The boys are under a lot of stress after being ambushed in the middle of the night with no warrant. I’m urgently returning to Lagos now now now,” he said.
