Naira Marley arrives Nigeria, taken into police custody

Singer Naira Marley has been taken into police custody for interrogation and investigation into the death of Mohbad.

Lagos Police Command’s spokesperson Benjamin Hundeyin announced this on Tuesday through a post on X (formerly Twitter).

“Azeez Fashola aka Naira Marley has been taken into custody for interrogation and other investigation activities,” he wrote.

Naira Marley also announced via X that he had arrived in Nigeria and would be meeting with the police.

“I’d like to share that I’ve just arrived back in Lagos, Nigeria to assist the authorities with the ongoing investigation. It’s important I do my part for Imole. I’ll be meeting with the police with hopes for the truth to be uncovered and for justice to prevail,” the 32-year-old wrote.

During an interview with former presidential media aide Reno Omokri on Wednesday, September 27, the Marlian Music boss said that he would return to Nigeria for questioning if the police would guarantee his safety.

He also released a statement via Instagram on Tuesday, September 27 debunking the allegations against him and his record label on the death of Mohbad.
