My father and I were in court to support Seun, Made Kuti replies critics

Afrobeat singer Made Kuti on Wednesday shared a picture of himself and father Femi Kuti at the Magistrate’s Court in Yaba to support Seun Kuti.

Seun is facing assault charges for slapping a police officer in uniform on the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos.

He was arrested and handcuffed on Monday after the Inspector General of Police Usman Baba ordered his arrest.

Following his arraignment, several persons went on social media to criticise Femi for not backing his brother Seun.

But Made proved critics wrong by posting a photo of himself and Femi in court. The photo was earlier shared on the social media pages of the Afrika Shrine.

Made urged the critics to realise that there is more to life than what they see on their phones.

“At court yesterday. I don’t like that we have to post things on social media to show/prove we’re doing everything we can as a family. But here you go.

“Because of this, many are cursing at us under my father’s last post, swearing at us for doing nothing. We must accept there’s much more to life than what we see on our phones,” he wrote.

His aunt Yeni Kuti wrote in the comment section, “Don’t mind them Made. Love your post and will repost.”

Seun was on Tuesday remanded by the court for 48 hours to allow the police complete their investigation.
