Senator Ben Murray-Bruce has welcomed his first grandson born to his son Jared and wife Susie.
The excited grandfather announced the birth of the baby Cameron on Saturday in a tweet. The baby was born on March 9.
“I’m excited! My first grandson, Cameron, born to @jaredmurrayb and Susie Murray Bruce on the 9th of March, 2022,” he wrote.
The birth of the child comes as a relief for the Murray-Bruce family following the death of its matriarch Margaret last month.
Murray-Bruce, 66, had represented Bayelsa East in the Senate from 2015 to 2019. The co-founder of Silverbird Group, an entertainment company that has been synonymous with beauty pageantry in Nigeria, lost his wife of 41 years Evelyn to cancer in 2021.
