Oba Toriola Olubiyi, father of the chief executive officer of MTN Nigeria Karl Toriola, has been crowned the 20th Ogunsua of Modakeke land.

The 81-year-old businessman assumed the throne on Saturday following his coronation in Modakeke, Osun State.

Oba Olubiyi succeeds Oba Moses Oyediran who died in March.

Flanked by his wife Comfort, the monarch assured his reign would herald a new beginning of success and development of the community.

“I feel elated. I have been in line for 43 years. I am happy. People should expect an all-round development. I will work with all stakeholders,” he said.

The installation rites for Oba Olubiyi, which commenced in the early hours of Saturday, climaxed with the adorning of the symbolic Akoko leaf on the new monarch.
