Telecommunications and internet governance stakeholders have confirmed support for the 2026 Nigeria DigitalSENSE Forum on Internet Governance for Development (IG4D).
The forum will hold on June 11 at the Welcome Centre Hotels, Ikeja, Lagos.
It is organised by ITREALMS Media Group and hosted by DigitalSENSE Africa, an ICANN-certified At-Large Structure.
The theme for the 16th edition is “Sustaining WSIS Vision with Multistakeholder Synergy in Nigeria.”
Organisers said MTN Nigeria, the Association of Licensed Telecoms Operators of Nigeria (ALTON), Upperlink Limited and the Nigeria Internet Registration Association (NiRA) have confirmed participation and support for the event.
Lead Convener of the forum and Group Executive Editor of ITREALMS Media Group Remmy Nweke said the event will focus on cooperation among stakeholders in the digital sector and the implementation of the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) framework.
“We are pleased to have the support of ecosystem players such as MTN, ALTON, Upperlink, and NiRA. Their involvement reflects the importance of dialogue on policy, infrastructure, digital rights, and security in the digital space,” he said.
He added that discussions will cover digital public infrastructure, internet policy, infrastructure growth and digital rights.
MTN Nigeria said its participation reflects its commitment to internet access and digital inclusion in the country.
ALTON said the forum provides a platform for engagement on telecoms regulation and sector development.
Upperlink Limited said the event aligns with its focus on digital infrastructure and domain name system services in Nigeria.
NiRA said it will continue to support initiatives that promote the growth of the Nigerian internet ecosystem and domain industry.
The programme will include plenary and technical sessions on regulation in the digital economy, innovation gaps, digital public infrastructure for small and medium enterprises, and data protection.
The forum will also feature the presentation of the DigitalSENSE Africa 2026 awards to individuals and organisations in the technology sector.
Industry veteran Olusola Teniola will chair the event.
Organisers said participants will include regulators, civil society organisations, academics, young innovators, women in technology, and industry professionals.
They added that sponsorship slots are open across platinum, gold, silver and bronze categories, with submission of materials expected by June 4.
The Nigeria DigitalSENSE Forum is an annual event certified under the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) through DigitalSENSE Africa. It serves as a platform for discussions on internet policy and digital economy development in Nigeria.
