Mr Macaroni speaks on demolition of Odumeje’s church in Onitsha

Mr Macaroni

Comedian-turned activist Mr Macaroni has reacted to the demolition a church owned by Prophet Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere aka Odumeje in Onitsha.

A video of Odumeje’s clash with security personnel has since gone viral. In the video, the clergyman is assaulted for attempting to stop the demolition.

Reacting to the video in a Twitter post on Thursday, Mr Macaroni condemned the assault on the prophet saying, “There is nothing funny about this video. This is what we complain about all the time. These Security Agents are brutes!! The man clearly poses no threat to them. But they continue to hit him just because they believe they have the power to do so. Very barbaric behavior!!

“Politicians need to stop using Security Agents to Kill, threaten and brutalize citizens!!! And big shame to these security Agents!! No iota of humanity left in you!! You have offered yourselves as tools for politicians to be used to destroy the same people you ought to protect.

The church, Mountain of Holy Ghost Intervention and Deliverance Ministry, is located at Bida Road, off Creek Road, Fegge-Onitsha.

It was in April 2022 marked by the Anambra State Physical Planning Board (ANSPPB) for outright demolition.

According to the board, the church blocks water flow at the Nwangele-Bida drainage.
