Mr Macaroni knocks Buhari’s ex-media aide over comments on demolition, fire at TikToker Rahama Saidu’s store

Mr Macaroni

Skit maker and actor Debo Adedayo, popularly know as Mr Macaroni has slammed Bashir Ahmad, former media aide to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, over his reaction to the controversy surrounding TikToker Rahama Saidu, whose shop in Kano was demolished and later engulfed in flames.

The incident began when officials of the Kano Urban Planning and Development Authority (KNUPDA) demolished part of Saidu’s store, claiming it was illegally built on public pathways in violation of planning regulations.

Saidu, visibly frustrated, took to Instagram to call out Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf over the demolition.

Hours later, the affected section of her shop caught fire.

While the cause of the fire remains unknown, eyewitnesses suggested it may have been triggered by welding activities during repair work.

Reacting to the development, Bashir Ahmad posted on X (formerly Twitter), saying:
“I honestly didn’t want to say anything about this Rahama Saidu’s issue. What she did was completely wrong, she shouldn’t have called out the Governor’s name in that manner.

“However, the treatment she received afterward, especially the burning of her shop, is absolutely ridiculous and condemnable. Nothing can justify such an act.

“I sincerely hope the Kano Government will intervene, ensure justice is served, and the perpetrators are held accountable.”

Mr Macaroni faulted Ahmad for appearing to blame Saidu for expressing her frustrations rather than outrightly condemning the destruction of her property.

“This is a former Presidential Media aide who has OON attached to his name telling the world that it is wrong for a citizen to criticize the Governor who is a public servant,” he wrote on X.

“There is no justification for the destruction of Rahama Saidu’s properties!!! And the first part of Bashir’s message blames the victim instead of outrightly condemning the attack!

“So a citizen expressing her frustrations is justification for the destruction of her properties? Do the people no longer have the right to express themselves?

“You love to defend oppression when it affects others but turn around to condemn it when it affects you. Despicable!”
