Dominic Nwuzor, the former manager of late actor John Okafor, popularly known as Mr Ibu, has appealed to the Enugu State government to provide scholarships for the actor’s children.
He said the educational support would help the children, who lost their father in March 2024, build a future and become self-reliant.
Speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday, Nwuzor, CEO of Don Singles International, said, “We have appealed for scholarship opportunities for the children, and will continue to do, so that something can be done.”
He described Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah as “a leader with a large heart” and urged him to consider the appeal.
Nwuzor added, “We hope he will consider offering scholarships to the offspring of the man, who used his talent to make the state proud across Africa and beyond.”
Mr Ibu, who hailed from Nkanu West in Enugu State, became known across Nigeria for his comedic roles in Nollywood films. He was widely celebrated for his unique timing and expressive performances, which made him a household name.
Reports indicate that Mr Ibu had more than ten children, including Chelsea Okafor.
