Mr Ibu returns home from hospital after leg amputation

Actor John Okafor, popularly known as Mr Ibu, has returned home from the hospital after recovering from an illness that led to the amputation of his leg.

Fellow actor Ken Erics shared a video of himself and Mr Ibu on Instagram on Sunday.

In the video he posted, Ken who was all smiles could be seen conversing with Mr Ibu who was also smiling.

Captioning the video, he wrote: “Happy Sunday Lovelies Something to brighten your day @realmribu.”

Actress Ebele Okaro expressed gratitude to God for Mr Ibu’s recovery in the comment section of the post.

“To God be the glory,” she wrote.

Another actress Georgina Ibeh thanked Ken Erics for visiting the 63-year-old.

“You are amazing Kene. God bless you,” she wrote.

Mr Ibu’s health struggles made the news in October 2023 when a video of the actor soliciting help was released on his official page.

He revealed in a video posted on Instagram that he needed financial support so his leg would not be amputated.

On October 31, Mr Ibu’s family expressed gratitude to God and the general public for their support and encouragement, while disclosing that he recovering in an intensive care unit (ICU) after undergoing five successful surgeries.

However, in November 2023, his family announced that the actor’s leg had been cut off.

In December 2023, the national president of Actos Guild of Nigeria (AGN) Emeka Rollas disclosed to Vanguard that another surgery was carried out on the amputated leg and the actor’s speech was detoriating

“As I speak with you, Mr Ibu hardly talks again and he has undergone another leg amputation,” Emeka said.
