Joseph Aloba, father of the late singer Oladimeji Aloba aka Mohbad, has warned that nobody should take his son’s body for burial without his permission.
Mr Aloba stated this in a video shared on TikTok on Sunday amid growing calls for his son’s body to be released for burial.
“When this boy was alive, he was alive. When he go, he still retained my name. Nobody should go there and take his body, please,” he warned.
Aloba added, “If they want to do anything there, I’ll be the one to authorise them. Nobody should go and carry Mohbad’s body from there.”
Mohbad died aged 27 on September 12 and was buried hurriedly.
The police, however, exhumed his corpse on September 21 for autopsy following calls for investigation.
A coroner’s inquest into his death was also launched by the Lagos State Government.
Mohbad’s friend and colleague Bella Shmurda and actress Tonto Dikeh recently called for the release of the musician’s body for proper burial.
Bella Shmurda, 27, said on Saturday via X it has been over two months and the result of the autopsy conducted on the deceased has not been released.
