Ozioma Okposo, widow of gospel singer Sammie Okposo, has penned an emotional tribute to celebrate what would have been his birthday.
In a heartfelt post shared on Instagram on Friday, Ozioma reminisced about the birthdays they celebrated together while revealing plans to honour her husband with his favourite songs and meals.

Ozioma’s tribute comes nearly three years after Sammie Okposo died on November 25, 2022, at the age of 51.
Initial reports claimed the singer slumped and died while being treated for exhaustion, but his project manager, Hillary Vincent, clarified he died peacefully in his sleep at his home in Lekki, Lagos.
A family source later confirmed high blood pressure as the cause of death.
Okposo was buried on December 15, 2022, in a private cemetery in Ikoyi, Lagos, following a well-attended funeral that saw tributes from family, friends and colleagues in the gospel music scene.
In January 2022, the singer made headlines after publicly admitting to an extramarital affair with a woman in the United States. He issued a public apology to Ozioma and his fans, stating he was stepping away from ministry to seek spiritual restoration.
Amid backlash, Okposo briefly deactivated his social media but later returned, affirming his faith in redemption and divine forgiveness.
Despite the controversy, the couple appeared to reconcile. In February 2022, they vacationed in Cancun, Mexico, sharing joyful moments from the trip online, signaling healing in their marriage.
