Film producer Kazim Adeoti has shown emotional support for his wife, actress Mercy Aigbe, as she begins funeral rites for her late mother, Abisola Owodunni.
On Friday, Kazim shared a compilation video on Instagram from the service of songs held in Lagos, writing that there is no perfect time to lose a loved one, particularly one’s parents. “No matter how much we care and love them, they have to leave someday. We will be most comforted by the sweet memories of their life and endearing legacies. The loss of a mother is one that hits forever, a kind that doesn’t come with recovery,” he said.
He added, “We bid my mother-in-law farewell today… I feel so emotional about this. She was my wife’s strengths and source of greatness. We love you, miss you, Iye, and pray that God give you eternal rest. Amin 🥰🕊🕊.”
Mercy Aigbe, who announced her mother’s death in September, described the service of songs as a “heavy” day, sharing heartfelt tributes about her mother being a “quiet light and gentle guide.”
The burial is scheduled for November 29 in Lekki, Lagos. Mercy earlier shared aso-ebi details for guests, with fabrics priced at N200,000 for women and N150,000 for men.
During the service, Mercy was seen breaking down in tears, a moment that drew sympathy and messages of support from fans and colleagues alike.
