Actress Mercy Aigbe has announced the burial date for her mother, Abisola Owodunni, who died in September.
Mercy shared the burial poster on Instagram on Tuesday, revealing that the funeral will take place on November 29, in Lekki, Lagos.
The actress had earlier expressed her heartbreak in an emotional post when she announced her mother’s death.
Sharing a candlelight image at the time, she simply wrote, “Rest in peace, mummy.”
Though Mercy did not reveal the cause of her mother’s death, Mrs Owodunni was said to have been a devoted Christian and a strong influence in her daughter’s life.
In earlier interviews, Mercy credited her mother for raising her and her siblings through difficult times. “My mum taught me to be strong and prayerful. Everything I am today, I owe to her,” she once said.
Mercy Aigbe, who is married to filmmaker Kazeem Adeoti, is one of Nollywood’s popular actresses and entrepreneurs.
Her mother’s burial is expected to be attended by several movie stars and friends from the entertainment industry.
