ChiomaI read one of the most ridiculous things ever on Facebook. I am being accused of being ‘anti-Igbo’, and it cracks me up big time.

Listen:

  1. I don’t care!
  2. If not being in support of any individual or forum where wicked and tribal salvos are fired, then I’m anti-Igbo or anti any tribe/ethnic group.
  3. I am a detribalised human. I don’t care where you are from…as far as you have a good heart, I’m your sister. Besides all my names are not Igbo names.
  4. I have lots of blood relations from different ethnic groups and areas in Nigeria in my family (Yoruba, Kogi, Ijaw, Niger Delta, Efik, Hausa) so I cannot align myself with one group.
  5. I am Igbo by birth and proud of it. I know the culture, can cook ANY Igbo meal, can write, speak and translate the language impeccably.
  6. I was raised to respect people’s cultures and beliefs. Furthermore I have known nothing but love and acceptance from other ethnic groups. My closest pals are NOT Igbo and they have been there for me through thick and thin.
  7. Finally, whether you are Igbo, Yoruba, Hausa, Ibibio, Igala, Igbirra, Fulani, Ijaw, Twi, Ashanti, Chinko, European, American, Muslim, Buddhist, Free thinker, etc we all bleed Red.

All we need is LOVE.

Wherever there’s Love, Food and Laughter, look for me, I’ll be there. I don’t need negative vibes in my space.
