Manchester United owner host Trump after Champions League exit

Ben Yedder celebrates scoring for Sevilla against Manchester United

Few hours after Manchester United crashed out the Champions League, owner, Ed Glazer, hosted the United States President, Donald Trump, at his Beverly Hills home, California.

It is the first time the much-maligned Trump visited the state since elected to office for a fundraising event.

Donors contributed up to $250,000 each to attend the dinner, with the funds benefiting Trump’s 2020 reelection campaign and various Republican National Committee accounts. The fundraising goal for the event was $5 million.

Glazer, 48, is the son of the late billionaire Malcolm Glazer.

Glazer reportedly donated $98,000 to Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign and $250,000 to his inauguration. But he has also supported Democrats.

In 2016, he gave $5,400 to Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign on the same day he donated $33,400 to the Republican National Committee.

Several miles away in England, one of his numerous investments, United, stumbled in the Champions League.

The Red Devils were eliminated 2-1 by Sevilla, putting an end to Jose Mourinho’s hopes of European glory.

Glazer may as well switch his attention to his American football franchise, Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
