The Safari themed competition which was hosted by media personality, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, featured the designs of Applause, Belle Afrique, Creative Lights, Echo, Elan, Elite, Secret Project, Eureka, FIB and Loud Tribe. Each team consisted of a designer, photographer, make-up artist and model.

Amidst the intensity of the regional competition, regional judges Adebayo Oke-Lawal of Orange Culture and the creative duo, Gozel Green, revealed the winning teams to battle for the $20,000US at the grand finale are Team Elan and Loud Tribe.

According to Oke-Lawal, “All 10 teams did really well especially owing to the fact that most of them are not professionals yet. However, the winning teams displayed exceptional originality and creativity in their designs. Not only did their designs stand out, one can also see the cohesiveness in their works, which some other teams lacked.”

The star act for the evening was male vocalist, Praiz, who gave an exceptional performance of his hit songs and left the audience satisfied.

Ric Hassani, Avalla and DJ Spinall also entertained the audience.

The grand finale takes place on July 5 at Oriental Hotel, Lagos with celebrity designers, Mai Atafo, Kunbi Oyelese and Kinabuti as judges.

Fayrouz L’original is organised to discover and promote young, talented fashion-forward undergraduates in universities across Nigeria.
