Lagos pastor arrested for ‘infecting’ teenage boys with HIV

The police in Lagos have arrested a pastor, Chizemdere Ezuma, for allegedly sodomising, prostituting and infecting underage boys with HIV.

The pastor, who is the founder of Jesus Intervention Household Ministry in Ejigbo area of Lagos, had been declared wanted three months ago.

He was arrested at his residence following a tip-off that he had shown up.

The police said the suspect climbed his ceiling and hid there for over two hours to evade arrest when officers from Ejigbo Division stormed his home a few days ago.

The cleric was mentioned after an alleged male prostitute, Prince Chinecherem, was arrested and charged to court following the confession of a 16-year-old victim, Anthony Ikem.

The boy was found sneaking out of Chinecherem’s home with a polythene bag containing used condoms and other items. After being interrogated by neighbours, he confessed he was one of several sex partners of the pastor.

The police said Ezuma, in his confessional statement, claimed he usually paid the boys N2,000 for sex and that he had been receiving treatment for HIV for over three years.

Lagos police spokesperson, Bala Elkana, said the suspect would be charged to court.

Also, the Command’s Gender Unit have arrested a 29-year-old teacher, Ajayi Akintunde, for allegedly having oral sex with a female SS2 student for marks in Fazir I Omar Senior High School, Iwaya, Yaba.

The defilement was said to have begun when the girl was in SS1 and lasted for over two years.
