Kidnapped Benue college of education provost regains freedom

Police in Benue say the kidnapped Provost of College of Education, Katsina Ala, Tsavwua Gborigyo, has regained freedom.

Benue police spokesperson, Catherine Anene, told the News Agency of Nigeria on Friday that the provost reunited with his family late Thursday.

Mr Gborigyo was kidnapped at Ihugh in Vandiekya Local Government Area on his way from a burial on August 9.

Anene said the provost was released without payment of any ransom.

She added that investigations were ongoing to apprehend the kidnappers and others terrorising the state.

The spokesperson said the police would protect informants who provide relevant information.
