A Tinubu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos has dismissed a car theft charge filed by the police against singer, Adeyemi Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, his two brothers and their cousin.

Chief Magistrate Tajudeen Elias dismissed the charge on Tuesday morning without Naira Marley appearing in court.

The magistrate gave the order after receiving a settlement agreement between the complainant, Adelekan Ademola, and the four defendants.

Defence lawyers had hinted early January that an out-of-court settlement was being considered, adding that the police were not against the peaceful resolution of the matter.

The police sued the singer, his two brothers Idris Fashola, 18; and Babatunde Fashola, 24; and their cousin, Kunle Obere, 22, on four counts of conspiracy, stealing, assault and obstructing the police from arresting Marley.

The singer and his siblings were accused of stealing a Toyota Camry valued at N1.8 million and an iPhone X5 said to be worth N330,000.
