Junior Pope: Mother of sound engineer Precious Ofurum begs Rivers govt to bring son’s corpse home

The mother of Precious Ofurum, a Nollywood sound engineer, who died in a boat accident has begged the Rivers State Government to assist in bringing her son’s corpse home.

Precious, actor Junior Pope and several others died in the boat accident on April 10. They were at the location of the production of Adanma Luke’s movie Another Side of Life.

Percious’ body was found on April 11 alongside three other crew members named Abigail Frederick, Olanti and Friday.

In a video circulating on social media, a woman who identified as the mother of the deceased could be seen asking for financial assistance while requesting that her son’s body be brought home for proper burial.

The ailing woman who pointed out that her son was the breadwinner of the family, asked the government to render help in bringing the corpse home.

“I call on the government and governor of Rivers State to come and help me. As I dey here I no well na that my son dey treat me, now no way to treat, no way to help for the family. Government make una help me,” the woman said in parts.

Meanwhile, Abigail whose body was exhumed after she was buried at the river bank with Precious has been reburied in her hometown in Ikot Udoma, Eket Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.

The 24-year-old was buried on Monday.

Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno instructed that her body be returned to the state for a proper burial.

The governor also paid a condolence visit to her family.

Precious hailed from Ubima in Ikwerre LGA of Rivers State.
