Minister for trade and industry Jumoke Oduwole has been appointed as an ambassador for the 2025 edition of the Lagos Women Run.

Coordinator of the project, Tayo Popoola, said that Mrs Oduwole will also serve as the special guest of honour for the event.

“We do this every year, and we are happy to have Dr. Oduwole confirmed as our special guest and ambassador this time around,” Mr Popoola said.

“There are many other plans in the pipeline to make this edition better than all previous ones.”
The event is scheduled for November 8.

According to Popoola, the Lagos State Government has been working with the organisers over the past weeks to improve on previous editions.

The director general of the Lagos State Sports Commission, Lekan Fatodu, is leading the coordination efforts and has urged committee members to work towards a successful event.

The Lagos Women Run aims to encourage women to pursue fitness and well-being in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

It also seeks to promote female empowerment and address issues such as poverty, education for the girl child, hunger and gender equality.
