Tanzanian singer Juma Jux has thrilled fans at the Detty December Fest in Lagos on Thursday night with a dramatic stage entrance.
The Ilubirin venue in Ikoyi was filled with music fans eager for the festival’s headline show. Jux arrived on stage in a dramatic moment that gave the impression he was floating before greeting the audience. He then delivered a set of his songs, including ‘God Design’, ‘Ololufe Mi’, ‘Enjoy’, ‘Si Mimi’, and ‘My Shayla’.
Juma Jux’s performance was part of a larger lineup of acts at the festival. Nigerian artistes Phyno, Qing Madi, Broda Shaggi, and hype man Do2dtun entertained the crowd with their sets. Emerging artistes Kashope, Zeez, and Mo’Believe also performed. One of the highlights of the night was when Jux brought his wife, Priscilla Ojo, on stage. The crowd also watched a show by the international Aerobatic Drummers.
Detty December Fest is a month‑long cultural event that runs through December in Lagos.
It includes music concerts, nightlife events, fashion showcases, food markets, and art installations at Ilubirin in Ikoyi and The Livespot Entertarium in Lekki.
The festival, organised by Livespot360, has been endorsed by the Nigerian government. Officials say it will boost holiday tourism, promote Nigerian and African creative talent, and support businesses in fashion, food, hospitality, and production.
Jux’s show on Thursday was one of several scheduled headline events. American rap legend Busta Rhymes is set to perform on December 19, while international rapper and singer Gunna will take the stage on December 29. Other confirmed artistes include Nigerian singer Bella Shmurda.
