Ahmed Gulak, a former aide of ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, has been shot dead in Imo State.

Reports say he was ambushed on Sunday at Obiagwa on his way to Sam Mbakwe International Cargo airport.

Gulak’s daughter Muneera confirmed the incident in a tweet. She said, “I just lost my dad please put him in your Dua. Thank you as you do so…”

Commissioner of police in Imo Abutu Yaro told PUNCH, “It is true but the details are sketchy. I am on the way to the airport.”

Gulak, a former chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2018.

In the same year, the Adamawa-born politician chaired the APC governorship primary committee in Imo.
