Singer Joeboy has made a guest appearance in Big Brother Naija season five winner Laycon’s long-awaited mixtape, Kashimaawoo, a 10-track project dedicated to his late father.
Fimi, Tytanium and Mayolee also feature on the mixtape, which includes tracks such as ‘Prelude’, ‘Reason’, ‘Oyoyo’, ‘Night and Day’, ‘Full Circle’, ‘Like Father, Like Son’, ‘His and Hers’, ‘Acceptance’, ‘Everyday Anthem’ and ‘Asee’.
Announcing the project on Instagram, Laycon said, “My name is Laycon and I made a mixtape about my late dad and I would like for you to listen to this.”
In a post on Friday, he added, “This is for every Son out there, for every Father out there. This is for you Káshìmaawòó, keep resting Daddy. OYOYO visualizer out on YouTube now !!!”
Born Olamilekan Agbelese, Laycon rose to prominence after winning BBNaija in 2020. Since then, he has steadily built a career in music, releasing several projects including the 2020 extended play Who Is Laycon?, his debut album Shall We Begin in April 2021, a second album later that year and Bioba in 2023.
The rapper recently revealed that he lost his “inner voice” after winning BBNaija, making this personal project a way to reconnect with his music and emotions.
