Jabi Lake Mall shut after Naira Marley’s concert

The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has shut down the Jabi Lake Mall where singer, Naira Marley performed on Saturday in violation of the social distancing rule and interstate ban put in place due to the coronavirus lockdown.

Naira Marley and ex-Big Brother Naija housemate, Kim Oprah, had flown into Abuja where Naira Marley performed at the concert, which was meant to be a drive-thru concert but reportedly got out of hand after some fans left their cars and gained entrance into the venue.

The two celebrities faced criticism on social media after videos from the concert were circulated on social media with many comparing it to the April 6 birthday party hosted by Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele, for which she was arrested and fined.

Naira Marley was a guest at the party, but unlike Funke and her husband, JJC Skillz, in whose honour the party was organised, he was pardoned on the condition that he issue a public apology to the Lagos State Government and join the state’s anti-coronavirus campaign by producing a video to raise awareness against the pandemic.
