Actress Regina Chukwu says she has never collected money from any politician to campaign for them.
The Yoruba movie star said this in an interview with Punch published on Saturday.
She said, “I have never collected money to campaign for any politician. But, people will categorise all entertainers as the same. One cannot even talk about Nigeria again without people bashing one from nowhere. I am so pained. Our government is not working.
“If we reject money from these politicians, they (politicians) will start to see us as serious people. I will start campaigning on my page, imploring people not to sell their votes.”
Recall that on June 6, Regina Chukwu vowed to physically attack her colleagues campaigning for old politicians.
The actress made the threat in an Instagram post following the attack on the worshippers of St Francis Catholic Church, Owo, Ondo State, on Sunday, by gunmen.
She wrote: “If you are a celebrity and I see you campaigning for any of these old men that sold us to this present government, I will attack you physically. I promise you.”
