Nollywood veteran Taiwo Ajai-Lycett has penned down an inspiring message to celebrate Nigeria at 61.

Ajai-Lycett in an Instagram post on Friday stated that although it saddens her to have conversations about Nigeria, she remains hopeful that things will get better.

“Today, we celebrate the 61st independence day of our motherland Nigeria. I want to remind us of who we are. Nigeria is unlike any other country in the world in terms of talent, pride, diversity, hard work, resilience, and a great sense of humor. Unfortunately, as a Nation, blessed with both human and mineral resources not to mention diverse opportunities, we do not have a system that bolsters our God-given abilities.

“It saddens me to have conversations about our country, but I remain hopeful regardless.

“Nigerians worldwide are triumphing in every industry, and in the creative industry, we have levelled up with the world’s best to the extent that the world is now paying attention. The fight for change starts with us as Nigerians because first things first, Nigeria is our only home, and who should clean one’s house? You!.

“Let us do our parts in our respective places of work, homes, relationships, environments, and in our hearts; everything to add value to self and country. Happy independence day family,” she wrote.

Other celebrities like Genevieve Nnaji, Clarion Chukwurah, Kate Henshaw, RMD, Kunle Afod, Seun Kuti also celebrated Nigeria on her Independence anniversary.
