Kim MadonnaDo blondes have more fun? This is the question that was raised during Paris Fashion Week when Kim Kardashian debuted her all new platinum blonde hair. A stark contrast from her natural darker locks, Kim made sure to be centre of attention in Paris with her striking new hair transformation that took three hours to achieve at Paris Salon L’Artelier.  Her blond hair has since prompted a barrage of playful parodies across social media poking fun at her hair style.

Singer Miley Cyrus uploaded a hysterical photo shopped picture of herself and Kim Kardashian to Instagram, remarking how painful it is to go platinum blonde by using the reality star’s infamous crying face and the singer as her stylist.

It didn’t end there, when Kim stepped out with her bleached tresses, fans immediately drew comparisons to Harry Potter’s Draco Malfory, including Draco himself citing “So apparently Kanye has a Draco fetish”. Others in the hairdressing industry who aren’t convinced it’s the right hue for the reality star think “She has completely lost her identity, and her long glossy locks had been the envy of everyone for a long time”.

Putting to bed the curiosity as to why she decided to take the plunge to go blonde, Kim explained; “I’ve always had this image of Madonna with platinum hair in my references folder on my computer and I’ve been waiting for a long time to try the look. I thought what better time than right now for Paris Fashion Week?”

The reality star’s comments will come as a major compliment to Madonna who last week had many complimentary words to say about Kim’s husband Kanye West “Kanye is the new Madonna, Kanye is the black Madonna.”Drawing comparisons of herself to the rapper, she went on to explain her connection with Kanye goes deeper than having inflated egos but it’s their commonality of being outliers in the music industry. “We know and recognise that we have that in common, we’re comrades in the envelope-pushing genre”.

Not one for subtlety, Kim’s choice of looks for Paris Fashion Week amped up high fashion sex appeal, wearing a lace up body suit from Givenchy’s Spring  15 collection in which she teamed with figure hugging black pants and over the knees leather peep toe boots. A statement look among others she wore as she unveiled her platinum locks.

What are your thoughts on this new hairdo? Do you prefer Kim as a brunette or a blonde?
