Injured Henry Onyekuru returns to Everton

Super Eagles starlet, Henry Onyekuru, has cut short his loan stint at Anderlecht, returning to Everton due to injury.

The pacy forward shared a photo of himself at Goodison Park, Saturday, as he hopes to recover early from the knock.

Onyekuru, 20, moved to the Premier League from KAS Eupen for £7m after finishing as top scorer in the Belgian top-flight.

The Toffees immediately sent the Nigerian back to the Jupiler League to join the reigning champions.

At the Constant Vanden Stock Stadium, Onyekuru maintained his fine streak, hitting the net nine times and lacing three others for his colleagues.

Before tragedy struck against his former employers, Eupen three days before Christmas.

Onyekuru featuring for the 19th time overstretched his knee and was forced off on a stretcher.

Early reports suggested that the youngster may no longer play this season, which may have ultimately ended his dream of representing Nigeria in Russia.

But that may have been utterly exaggerated as the striker is now back on his feet.

Onyekuru is one of the jokers expected to make headway at the World Cup for Gernot Rohr’s team.

He made his senior debut for Nigeria in a 3–0 friendly win over Togo last year.
