Ighalo exit rumours normal -Watford coach

Odion Ighalo

Watford Manager, Quique Sanchez Flores, says he is not bothered by rumours linking star striker, Odion Ighalo, with a summer move to a bigger club.

Ighalo, 26, with 14 goals, is currently the Barclays Premier League fourth top scorer, behind Jamie Vardy, Harry Kane and Romelu Lukaku.

His goalscoring prowess has drawn the attention of several top European sides including Atletico Madrid, Manchester United and most recently Arsenal.

But Sanchez isn’t marvelled by the attention the Nigerian is getting because “he is one of the best strikers in the division”.

“I love speculation for all the players in the squad,” the Spanish tactician said on Thursday.

“He is one of the best strikers in the division so [speculation] is very normal. It’s good.

“It means the performance of the team is good, every teams want players of Watford so we are doing something well and it’s good news for our team.”

Meanwhile, Ighalo has disclosed that he is not under any sort of pressure to score this weekend against Bournemouth.

The former Granada man has only scored once in 2016 – failing to score in his last four successive games.

Ighalo who notched 30 goals last year said “I am not under any form of pressure to score goals.

“As a striker, I always want to score goals but sometimes you don’t get the goals.

“But as long my team keep winning, I am happy because that is the most important thing.”
