Igbo politician won’t ‘smell’ presidency without Nnamdi Kanu – Rita Edochie

Actress Rita Edochie has said an Igbo politician will never become president without the support and release of embattled leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Nnamdi Kanu.

The actress said this in an Instagram post on Monday while condemning the continuous detaining of Kanu.

She wrote: “THE CONTINUOUS DETAINING OF MAZI NNAMDI OKWU KANU WILL KEEP DIVIDING NIGERIA. SO LONG AS MAZI NNAMDI OKWU KANU IS STILL BEING DETAINED, NIGERIA WILL NEVER KNOW PEACE. NDI IGBO I LAUGH. NDI IGBO WAKE UP. ONYE IGBO CAN NEVER SMELL PRESIDENCY WITHOUT MAZI NNAMDI OKWU KANU.

“IT IS A SPIRITUAL THING. FIGHT FOR YOUR OWN FIRST AND GOD WILL FINISH THE BATTLE. NDI IGBO LET NOTHING HAPPEN TO OUR GREAT BROTHER MAZI NNAMDI OKWU KANU BECAUSE IT IS GOING TO BE OUR WORST EXPERIENCE. CHUKWU OKIKE ABIAMA IS WAITING FOR NDI IGBO TO ACT. GOD IS NOT SLEEPING.”

Rita, a staunch supporter of Kanu and the IPOB sit-at-home order, has been calling for the release of the IPOB leader since his arrest in June 2021.

On December 25, 2021, the movie star expressed sadness that the Biafra agitator spent Christmas in custody.

In a post on her Instagram page, she wrote: “Today is Chrismas and Mazi Nnamdi Okwu Kanu is still not free right?”

She went on to vent her anger at the Federal Government for not releasing Kanu.
