Idris Aregebe, special adviser on tourism, arts and culture to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, organised a surprise performance for Mabel Makun, ex-wife of comedian AY Makun, as she marked her 40th birthday.
The surprise featured gospel singer Yinka Alaseyori, who arrived in Lagos from Abuja for the occasion.
In a video shared on Instagram on Monday, Yinka was seen engaging Mabel in a moment of worship as both women went on their knees to thank God.
Explaining the visit, the singer wrote, “I flew in from Abuja to Lagos to celebrate my blessed sis, Mabel @ 40 🎉 @realmabelmidas
“A beautiful soul, a kind heart, and 40 years of amazing memories. Cheers to many more!

Mabel, a businesswoman and interior designer, has maintained a relatively private life since her separation from AY in 2024 after nearly two decades of marriage. The former couple share two children.
Earlier in the day, Mabel used her birthday to honour her late mother, sharing a tribute video featuring herself and her daughters dressed in gold. She revealed that the shoot was originally planned to celebrate her mother’s 70th birthday but could not happen due to her death.
