I’d pick Achebe 100 times over Soyinka for Nobel Prize – Reno Omokri

Reno Omokri

Reno Omokri, former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, has questioned Professor Wole Soyinka’s merit of Nobel Prize for Literature over late renowned writer, Chinua Achebe.

Omokri, known for making controversial statements, said this on Wednesday in a tweet.

In the tweet, Omokri said he would give the Nobel Prize for Literature to Achebe other than Soyinka 100 times over.

He also said that he was baffled at how the professor got the prize as he (Omokri) had read his works and that of Achebe only to find the latter’s works “more superior”.

“Between Chinua Achebe and Professor Wole Soyinka, I would give the @NobelPrize for literature to Achebe 100 times out of 100 times,” he said.

“I still don’t understand how Soyinka got it and Achebe did not. I read their books. Achebe’s works are by far the more superior works of literature.”
