Blessing Okagbare has been disqualified for lane infringement in the 200m race at the ongoing IAAF World Athletics Championship in Doha, Qatar.

Okagbare finished fourth in the race on Monday won by Niger’s Aminatou Seyni who clocked 22.58 secs to hit the semifinal stage.

The 2013 bronze medalist had first been disqualified from the competition for failing to turn up for the 100m race.

The athlete alongside compatriot, Divine Oduduru, was listed in the 100m even though they had said they did not intend to take part.

Okagbare was thereafter given a nod by IAAF to compete after an appeal.

Oduduru, however, advanced out of the first round in the men’s race for the semi-finals of the men’s 200m.
