Singer Zlatan Ibile has revealed how he worked as a bricklayer before he became famous.

The 25-year-old said this in an Interview with BBC Pigin published on Wednesday.

“Before fame things were hard. From doing bricklaying to cutting grass for someone’s foundation to working in cold room to going to game center to gamble in order for me to feed,” he said.

Zlatan also shared the story of how he got his first car which he later used as a taxi.

“Before my first semester exam in school, a talent competition came up. To win one had to buy sim card of 50 naira and if you get to the finals you wins a brand new car,” he said.

“Did not believe in it but my friend bought a sim card and brought the form which I filled and submitted. That was what made me continue music. I ended up using the car for a cab because three years I was not famous with the car.”

Born Omoniyi Raphael, Zlatan rose fame after ‘Zanku’ which was accompanied by a dance routine of the same name.
