Founder of Genevieve Magazine, Betty Irabor and her husband, veteran broadcaster Soni Irabor are celebrating 42 years of marriage, a journey the media entrepreneur described as one marked by faith, love and mutual respect.

In an Instagram post on Tuesday, Betty poured out her heart to her husband, thanking him for being her “biggest career cheerleader” and “faithful companion.”

“We’ve walked through both, seasons of abundance and times of need. We’ve faced prosperity and adversity, hand in hand, anchored by faith and fortified by love,” she wrote.

The 67-year-old also opened up about their struggles over the decades, including secondary infertility, miscarriages, depression and even a stroke, affirming that they remained “unrelenting” and “unshaken.”

“42 years on… and I still want to grow old with you, Soni boy,” she added with a mix of humour and tenderness.

Concluding her tribute, Betty wrote, “To grace. To patience. To trust. To mutual respect. To faithing it. On God! To love that lasts. Happy Anniversary Soni and Betty.”

The couple got married in 1982 and have two children, a daughter, Sonia and a son, Rotimi.

Over the years, they have become a symbol of enduring love in Nigeria’s media and publishing industry.

Betty, known for her advocacy on mental health and women’s empowerment, founded Genevieve Magazine in 2003.

Her husband, Soni, is a respected broadcaster with decades of experience in radio and television.
