I don’t regret quitting school to pursue music – Bella Shmurda

Singer Akinbiyi Ahmed aka Bella Shmurda has revealed he dropped out of the Lagos State University (LASU) to pursue his music career, adding that he does not regret the decision.

The 24-year-old made this known on Twitter as he celebrated reaching 550 million streams on music charts.

The singer bragged that he had not dropped out, he would have been broke and struggling with carryovers.

“Thank God I was stubborn and I never got to pass those exams then. Big thanks to @Poco__lee for telling me to do that vision2020 viral video, shoutout to @Olamide for his listening ears and open hands for upcoming acts.”

Bragging about reaching a milestone, he wrote: “I now worth over half a billion streams (550millions streams to be precise)
I for still Dey lasu Dey wine and dine with carryovers and stranded with nothing in my pocket… forever glad I did my thing.

“Thanks to omotena sha She sef try, D pikin suppose be five this year but sometimes God proposes man Dispose bcos how I wan take tell mumsy wey I still Dey apprentice for tailoring school.”

Bella became popular after the release of his debut single ‘Vision 2020’, and remix version in which he featured Olamide.

He released several hit songs in 2020, some of which featured top musicians, one of which is ‘Cash App’ featuring Zlatan.

He was nominated for the Headies Award for the next rated artiste in 2020.
