I don’t believe there’s coronavirus in Nigeria – Pastor David Ibiyeomie

David Ibiyeomie

Founder of Salvation Ministries, David Ibiyeomie, has said that he does not believe the coronavirus pandemic ravaging the world is in Nigeria.

Speaking recently in a broadcast, the popular televangelist said he believed Nigerians are suffering from malaria and are termed to have coronavirus.

“Coronavirus is a virus that is corona. People are making noise about coronavirus. To me, it is rubbish. Did we make noise about malaria?” he asked.

“Malaria kills more people in Nigeria than coronavirus. Everyday people die from malaria. In the villages, they die. So what are we talking about coronavirus, closing borders up and down?

“Nigeria does not even have it. I don’t think Nigeria has it. Because you have heard Dokpesi say he had it but it was malaria tablet that they gave him. So if it is coronavirus, why will they give him malaria tablets?”

Ibiyeomie was referring to the founder of DAAR Communications, Raymond Dokpesi, who recently recovered from the coronavirus.

The preacher urged his audience to read the Bible so the virus would not come near them, boasting that he reads the Bible and was not afraid of the virus.

Ibiyeomie’s comments follow previous statements by preachers, Chris Oyakhilome and David Oyedepo, on the rationale behind closing churches over the coronavirus.
