Actress Teniola Aladese has said she no longer feels safe walking alone in her Lekki estate in Lagos due to repeated experiences of being followed by unfamiliar men.
Speaking during an interview, Teniola said walking used to be a normal part of her routine when she lived in Magodo.
“Walking was part of my routine in Magodo,” she said. “But here in Lekki, I’ve had several instances where strange men followed me.”
She recalled one incident that deeply unsettled her and changed her habits. “On this fateful day, it was God that saved me. Since then, I decided to buy and use a treadmill at home,” she added.
During the same interview, Teniola also spoke about other aspects of her life. She reflected on the emotional impact of losing her ex-boyfriend a few months after their relationship ended, saying the experience left her angry and confused. She said she struggled with questions about faith and purpose before eventually finding peace.
The actress also shared her views on relationships and independence, saying many women should experience living alone before marriage. According to her, that period helps people understand their preferences, boundaries and what they can tolerate in a partner.
Teniola is known for her work as an actress and producer in Nollywood. She has appeared in several film and television projects and has spoken openly about her career journey, personal growth and the importance of self awareness and support systems.
